“I began development in late spring of 2005. For the next six frustrating months, I attempted to bring Gerald Walker Transport online with the system - to no avail. There are three significant problems from a user perspective: the software is difficult to use; the online response time is very slow with data entry and the tardy system response affects the usability; and finally, online and telephone help were totally inadequate. For example, several requests for assistance with specific problems went unheeded by ACE support staff in Washington, DC. In my frustration, I contacted the ACE eManifest facilitator hired by BCTA; he was of great assistance but not readily available for consultation on an on-going basis. The staff at CBP, Blaine, WA were equally helpful however their roles, I was informed, were not as technical problem solvers.
Finally, in frustration, I recommended to our Company in November that we should explore the 'service provider option' with ACE eManifest. After several demos and discussions with two Canadian firms, we opted to contract with CrimsonLogic. Problem solved! They have a 'user-friendly' data entry system available at a reasonable cost with a super helpdesk and staff that have made the transition easy for our Company. We are now fully operational and prepared for the deadline.
I would not recommend the US CBP Internet portal to any small or medium size trucking company with limited IT support staff. I would recommend such companies to go directly to third-party service providers given the fast approaching deadline for ACE eManifest implementation.”

Yesterday, some of the CrimsonLogic staff very quickly and effectively identified the problem with my vehicle, and they were able to come up with a successful course of action. Last night, when I arrived at the Windsor-Detroit Tunnel, I handed over my eManifest, and my fast card to the officer in the commercial lane, within a few seconds, my trip number and fast ID were entered into CBP system and I was told that I could go to my final destination at Metro Airport’s FedEx warehouse.
